Gender Equality and the New Urban Agenda

The main objectives of the Gender and Women Roundtable are:

To address the linkages between gender equality, women’s empowerment and urbanisation as positive drivers of the New Urban Agenda.

To emphasise the centrality of gender equality and women’s empowerment in furthering economic growth and achieving sustainable development in the New Urban Agenda. To identify, develop and promote strategies for enhancing gender equality and women’s empowerment as an integral part of the transformative change in the New Urban Agenda towards Post-2015, the Sustainable Development Goals and Habitat III.
