Business Assembly: A Global Conversation on Cities

This Business Assembly is organized in collaboration with Global Compact


As human settlements become predominantly urban, the corporate world is an essential partner to define the cities of tomorrow, and will be vital to achieving urban equity andsustainability. The Business Assembly will bring together private sector leaders and representatives of the world's leading CSR business networks to put forward the corporate best practices, innovations, and business models that have the power to generate change and to accelerate action to sustainable urbanization. In particular, they will hold conversations with cities in order to exchange strategies and innovations to improve settlements and achieve better integrated and inclusive cities. Medellín will be presented as the success story at this session.

Join the Four City Conversations

The Business Assembly includes fourCity Conversations focusing on four cities: Kisumu in Kenya, Santa Marta in Colombia, Delmas in Haiti and Nampula in Mozambique. The four City Conversations will runin parallel during the Business Assembly from 10:30 to 13:00. They will consist in a presentation on the current projects and city strategies made by a case presenter from the City, moderated by an UN-Habitat Expert, who will invite participants to share their views and ideas in a prioritization interactive session, focusing on innovative solutions from the private sector. Signing up for the City Conversations is free of charge; please note that maximum capacity is 56 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.
